2012

Farewell to 2011....The New year is here and Wow is all I can say. As I always say, time does fly by way too fast! As I'm typing this we are on our way home from San Antonio, where I must say we had a blast bringing in 2012! We were able to join in the festivities held in down town that ended with a spectacular firework display :) that was the best part for Ariana, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to have brought in the New Year!

Ariana is growing so much. She is 1/2 way through first grade and progressing well in all subjects! She is still very much involved in dance. Hard to believe that she is on her 4th year of dance already. Her first competition of this season is in just 2 weeks in Friendswood. She will be performing 3 routines with the elementary team. And a solo once again! I am super excited about seeing her in action, she has improved so much as a dancer and is getting stronger at it every year! She is also enjoying her tumble classes at the other gym she attends, which is Full Force. Ariana's goal is to be a cheerleader so she is focusing on learning all the techniques needed for that.

I don't have pictures to share with you right now since I'm using Ariana's iPad to type this post. So for now I will leave you with this one just taken on this device. I will hopefully upload some pictures on here within the next week!

Happy New Year :)

We are back in the blogging world :)

Ariana finished off Kindergarten great and our Summer was pretty good. We had a couple mini get-a-ways here and there. Ariana was stuck in Day Care full-time so she didn't really get to experience much of a summer when it comes to sleeping in and lounging around the house. She did have Swimming lessons and did awesome, I am much more confident about her swimming now :) So glad we finally got that done. Ariana continued her X-treme Jazz dance practices through the summer. Classes were only on Monday's so it wasn't too bad! She decided she didn't want to do cheer at X-treme Jazz anymore because she really wanted to get into Full Force. (a tumble and cheer gym in El Campo) She had been on the waiting list since February and well she started her classes the first week of school in August. She is only doing tumble classes for now so that she can focus on learning what she needs to if she decides to try out for the Compettive cheer team (which she really wants to do)  So now we are dealing with two different gyms and 3 practices a week.  She will also be doing another solo this year for competition. She will be dancing to "Watch me" from the Disney Series Shake it Up.

The princess turned 6 right before the school year. She celebrated at the Bowling Alley in El Campo, It turned out great and all the kids had fun. Now for First Grade, Well the first 2 weeks went great. Homework was easy and it went very smoothly. It has gotten a little bit tougher on her these past few days though. She has kind of gotten the attitude that she really doesn't like school but i think it all boils down to the extra work she didn't get when she was in kindergarten. She now has weekly test for her sightwords and spelling words in addition to nightly readers with comprehensive questions. Her grades so far are awesome though. I think it will be a great year :)

As for me, well i have adapted to a healthier lifestyle :) and i feel awesome! I eat alot healthier and have really become commited to excercising. Don't get me wrong though I still have my days where i NEED to have all that good food that is just so bad for you, LOL. I didn't want to let go of that completley because i could never do that long term, and i needed a solution that i could work with all the time. What helps me is eating healthy during the week and then opt for the not so healthy stuff on the weekends, LOL. This technique has seemed to work for me so i'm sticking to it :)  I do everything from working out at SNAP Fitness, ZUMBA (which is my favorite) and step aerobics which is an awesome toning and mega calorie burning workout.  I mean who would have thought that by dancing you could lose weight, I strontly reccoment ZUMBA to anyone who has not already tried it. It really helps shed those inches. I am down 38 pounds and tons of inches. I am super excited about my progress. It has been a long journey but very well worth it. I'm not done quite yet, need about another 8 pounds and then focusing hard core on toning up. Then comes the maintaing phase, which i have realized won't be hard to do at all as long as I continue excercising. I am keeping up with my progress through myfitnesspal.com and i have a counter located on the right hand side of this page.

Below are some pictures from the past couple months in no particular order! I hope you enjoy them :)

***For those of you getting this update by email, You won't be able to see some of the photos Ariana and I had taken by Impressions by Leslie. I don't mean to brag, i'm just a Proud Mommy :)

Wow, i'm on a roll...i have posted 3 blogs in less than a week. Watch out I may become a pro at this...hahaha..ok just kidding....Too bad i can't keep up with it as often, but I just had to tell you all about Ariana's progress at school. I tell you so much about her extra-curricular activities and hardly update you guys on her academics. Yesterday was my parent/teacher conference and I am proud to announce that she is doing EXCELLENT. as of January she has been reading on a 1st grade level :) WOOHOO. She has mastered all the required sight words for Kindergarten and writing well. She has a 100 in English, Reading, and Work Habbits. Her Math grade is a 95, but i'm very confident that will rise to a 100 by the end of these last nine weeks because the only part she is having problems with in that area is describing relative sizes of sets. For example, If  Sue has 7 apples and Joe has 5 apples. How many more apples does Sue have? With all that being said, i was one proud mommy walking out of that school :)

Updates :)

Hello everyone, Sorry for the long gap between updates. We are doing great! After 6 competitions between Cheer and Dance in 2 1/2 months i'm happy to announce that competition Season is Finally OVER....YAY!!!  It is so much Fun, but i'm so glad it's over with for now! We will have alot more free time on our hands..YAY!! Ariana's last competition (NATIONALS) was held in Galveston at Moody Gardens Hotel Convention Center. We had a blast, She Loved the place and had a great time competiting. The team came home with numerous awards including National Grand Champions on there Hip Hop Routine (All the Single Ladies). I was so proud of her and all the girls on the team for putting so much hard work into there routines. Ariana was not a finalist on her Solo Performance but she still did an Outstanding job, She still scored a Superior I Rating which means she got a 90 or above on her scores whish is AWESOME!!! Her End of the year Recital will be on Saturday April 16th in El Campo. Then after that we kick into full gear in preparing for try-outs for Next years' Dance Team. She will again try out for the elementary team :) and she has decided on doing a Solo once again, so we are currently looking for a song. Monica will choreograph her routine and Ariana will continue taking private lessons with her. She will add a lot more technique to the dance and make it more difficult, which is what the judges look for at competion. Ariana is up for the challenge and wants to do it, so of course you know i'm all for it :)

As for school goes Ariana is doing great, I just got a smile-o-gram from her teacher at the beginning of this month and it read as follows: "Ariana has been doing a wonderful job reading and writing. She has been sharing stories from her journal with the class" - G. Seymour" Those smile-o-grams definitley put a smile on my face when i get them :) Next Monday I have a conference with the teacher where i will get more detailed information on where she stands with her reading levels, etc.

We have have offically moved in to our new place...Even though i'm still on the same property, Ariana loves it alot better because she says she has a bigger front yard now, LOL..She loves to play outside, riding her bike, driving her jeep, and playing teather ball. She also has a new puppy, (not sure what type it is, but i've been told it looks like the presidents....a portuguese water dog) She named him EDWARD..for now he is living with my parents, and only comes over to play in the evenings when my dad brings him, but it looks like Edward will be living with us SOON...OH NO!! as most of you know i hate dogs, don't want to touch them, bath them or anything like that.. It will be an outside dog, but my mom has taken the job of bathing it and Ariana will be feeding him...lol...someone's got to do it if the princess wants a puppy and I refuse to do that, LOL..sorry, but thats one thing that i can't give into...It took me forever just to finally accept that he can live with us.
Ariana and Edward
(yes she named him after Edward on Twilight, lol)

As for the accident Ariana had last month well it's healing great. Scabs are gone, she does have a scar, but i'm hoping that Mederma does its job and takes it away!!

Hope all of you have a great weekend :)
